This marks the fourth consecutive year Dr. Shetty has received this global recognition, which honours the most influential figures in the field of Ophthalmology worldwide.

Dr. Shetty has been listed under the “Research” category for his outstanding contributions to clinical and translational research. His work has focused extensively on corneal biomechanics, keratoconus and refractive surgery. He has also played a key role in major multicentre studies approved by the CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Govt of India) and the FDA(Food and Drug Administration, USA), impacting ophthalmic practices around the world.

With over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Shetty is acknowledged as a highly cited researcher and serves as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Refractive Surgery and is the Chief Mentor of the Dual Academic Program (PhD & Clinical Fellowship) run jointly by Narayana Nethralaya and Maastricht University.
